Lead discovery as a Research Scientist

As a Research Scientist, you’ll set scientific direction, design and execute experiments, and mentor junior scientists—all while driving new product development and advancing our research pipeline.

Role Summary

You will initiate and manage independent R&D projects, partner cross-functionally, and publish findings that build a strong scientific reputation for the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define research plans, design experiments, and analyze results with statistical rigor.
  • Lead execution of new product development and technical services projects.
  • Author protocols, reports, and manuscripts; present findings internally/externally.
  • Coach and mentor Associate/Junior Scientists; contribute to hiring and onboarding.
  • Ensure adherence to GLP/cGMP where applicable and maintain strong data integrity.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant biopharma/biotech experience.
  • Track record of impactful publications or patents; ability to build national reputation.

Technical Skills

  • Method development/validation; assay design and optimization.
  • Advanced data analysis; familiarity with HPLC, GC, MS, and related platforms.
  • Knowledge of cGMP/GLP/GCP principles and documentation.

Soft Skills

  • Scientific leadership, strategic thinking, and crisp communication.
  • Collaboration across R&D, Regulatory, CMC, and Quality teams.
